I'll look into that. I'm the meantime, Harbor Freight has metal lock boxes with a cable and fits under the seat for around $15-$20. The large one holds a pistol, extra mag, and knife. Travels on airlines nicely, too. When I found that, I had no excuse to leave a donation in my car for bad actors, anymore. The StopBox is a pricier but nicer plastic solution that can also accept a cable and doesn't require a key nor batteries, but I prefer the metal, keyed solution for airlines.
I have one of the vaulttecs. However, I got mine without the biometric. just another electronic thing to go wrong. I get it its convenient for some, however just like the code panel..if you forget to charge it and battery is dead youre going for a key unlock anyhow. So getting the less expensive without the biometric only made sense for me. Oh and the battery that comes with it...will last roughly 6 months before you have to recharge it.(wish it came with a battery power guage)
One caution: I have yet to find a fingerprint sensor on a lock box that works as reliably every time as the one on a previous iPhone. I noticed in the video that it often took Keith a couple of tries to get his fingerprint to register and open the box, and that's the same as on other brands I've tried. Fortunately, keys and number combinations both work too.
As for the cable, that's pretty much my only option for locking a box to my very small current car. The Console Vault in my previous car was much better - fit right in its center console, held there firmly with screws. I had the fancy combination option for the lock, and liked it better than hunting for a key.
I’d really appreciate a real lawyers version of this, least something akin too official U.S. Government documentation describing this new law. Not mr. Jonesey he she said youtube channel.

Looks good. I’m thinking Christmas presents.

Thanks Keith, I have the Console Vault. Really happy with it. https://www.consolevault.com/
I had that in my prior car too. Excellent protection, very handy, and out of sight.
Very well made video. I will be putting this on my Christmas list lol to buy for myself!
Nevermind, I found the model I like.

Which Voltech model did you request?
