There are several ways to do a man in the middle attack with telegram. Also, the owner is now cooperating with authorities with search warrants and other issues. Whatever you write, it is not secure.

The defense intelligence agency is another good source. also trying different terms on Google can bring up terrorist threat information all over the western world as it’s happening live.
I had read a while back that signal wasn’t actually secure. They had said it’s actually run by FBI or CIA as a way to monitor people who are trying to stay off the radar. Is this not true? You actually trust that app? I deleted it after I read that, which was over a year ago I think.
It was funded by the CIA so that they can communicate with their assets. They no longer fund it. I also know that the FBI tried to serve a warrant on signal for information on a user. They’re based out of Switzerland and did not have to abide by the warrant. When they finally submitted to the warrant. Only able to give them a username and that’s it. Your messages are encrypted and not visible to them. Telegram is compromised and there are numerous hacks to get information off of people there. If you still don’t trust signal, Threema is a good choice.

Have you been able to test drive Tango Tango yet? Not free but from their website it sounds good.
