I recently left a church cause they were not able to attain enough security team an I did not sign up to be the only armed security. I was packing two pistols an back up mags for both. I could not take the pressure of that responsibility. The team has a leader an I did not want his job. He did not carry. I'm now at a church with a sincere team. Glad I left. God did not call me to lead a team. Only help an be aware. The best shot one takes is none at all.
Also: Fairfax County, VA police reported similar instances for 2 separate churches - On January 15, 2025, three men entered the building and began to take pictures. These men attempted to walk around the exterior and interior of the property but did not successfully get further into the buildings. In one instance they were questioned by a church staff member. During this time, only one of the men spoke and asked questions about the location's security system. They specifically asked if the cameras could "live stream" and if they were monitored consistently. The two other men were seen taking pictures and recording video. After their questions were not directly answered, they entered a Lexus SUV and left.
My contact at my local police dept. confirmed they were middle eastern.
As an executive member of law enforcement and former tactical commander and member of our church security team the threats to our church’s (soft targets) can’t be overemphasized. We are living in a day and age where there are more than likely thousands of terrorists operating on our soil. To combat and stop an active shooter incident at our churches it will and does take every member of the flock. Vigilance is paramount and key to being in front of the curve and not behind it. Please “see something, say something”. If you are a member of your security team, you must operate with the “not if but when minded” and be ready at all times. It is my humble opinion derived through my own research and study, terrorist are preparing and prepared to hit our congregations across this nation. Please please please pay attention and be vigilant. God Bless
What good is it to let the suspects go when there is already enough suspicious activity to detain and take them in for questioning? Should be handed over to FBI and let local and state news report whats happened to alert everyone. Tired of hearing about a shooter who the authorities knew about. my 2 cents - inflation.
You can’t arrest anybody unless they commit a crime. Since this is California, they have stripped many laws and made it impossible for Police to actually arrest people. So no crime, they get let go. I have no doubt the cops are as mad as you are. The California government has handcuffed them. I’m not even sure why anybody would wanna be a cop in California anymore. It was Tough enough during my time. I can only imagine how bad it is now.
Thanks for this information Keith. I have noticed that there is also an uptick in incidents at churches involving people who are conducting 1st amendment audits. They stand in a public place and video parking lots and the comings and goings of worshippers. I have seen them be silent when approached by church security. Some speak unintelligibly to possibly indicate that they are middle eastern descent. I have some pretty ugly responses from church security that are then posted on YouTube for potential profit. Security team members should be aware of and discuss tactics for people who may be engaged in a constitutional protected activity. Keep your cool using discernment to keep your church safe from either. On the other side of the coin is if they are on church property, document the encounter, call LE and trespass. Know what’s public. Here is one of the more extreme videos. https://youtu.be/As31DGbaNOg?si=5KHgUBFmkiPEhawB
What are your thoughts regarding concealed SBR's as part of a church security plan? I have been taught and I believe that if it became necessary to take a shot at anything over 30 feet a pistol is the wrong tool in the toolbox if yiu have another tool. God forbid if a shot had to make across a church maybe 100 feet or more the risk to others using a pistol is terrifing just thinking about or I should more terrifying given the overall subject matter. What brought this issue home to me is one that involved church politics making a decision over one that had been made after the senior pastor, the head of the deacon body, who is also the head of the security team, had approved having at least one member of the security team being armed with both a handgun and a SBR. Of course nothing take the place of practice and practicing with what whatever weapon or weapons that the team member will be practicing seems is harder than it should be given the duty to protect the flock. As an aside a SBR had been carried to, during and after church in a discreet sling bag for months with no one the wiser that it was there.
This video reminded me of during a training showing something I already had seen first hand of how hard it is to penetrate a windshield. Add to that a pistol with defensive ammunition. Side windows are of course a different matter. I will try to contact you via ChristianWarriorTraining.com but I thought your comments here might be useful one way or the other.
Stay alert and report all suspicious activity to the police. Post people it all open doors and don’t have any doors open that you can’t put a live person to watch it. Watch the parking lot and look for people stopping abruptly making new charms and doing a circuitous route. Look for drones in the air. Anything suspicious contact law-enforcement, and keep an eye on them. I very much recommend that every church security team have an intelligence officer like we listed in the article.
Keith did a security seminar last year at Calvary Chapel, Chino Hills that resulted in many of the attendees forming a Signal discussion group that has been extensively discussing this incident all week. If your church's security lead is not already in that group, I'd suggest they request to be added to it. Contact is kelley.osg@calvarycch.org

Thank you for what you do! God Bless!
What source information can you share for possible terrorist probing in VA and CA?
Hi Keith, Please consider using Rumble instead of You tube lunatics. G-d bless you my brother!

Two members of my team carry ARs chambered in 300 Black Out with 110 grain Hornady Black for ammo to limit over penetration.
Keith....forgot my pw at training. What to do?
My church is here in SoCal, what should we do?
