Traveling as a Christian Warrior: The Essential EDC for a Retired SWAT Cop
Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle; he is my steadfast love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield and he in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me. Psalm 144:1-2 (ESV)
Last week, I traveled to a city in the western U.S. to train street cops on counter narcotic tactics. With me was my travel every day carry, or EDC. My EDC for traveling long distances is something I get questioned about frequently.
As followers of Christ, we often have to travel to spread the Gospel. Many things can happen while we are on the road, especially with 2024 coming up and the threat of renewed violence in our urban areas. My loadout for traveling is based on my experience as a SWAT team leader and undercover narcotics detective navigating cities in massive civil unrest (I often had to do mutual aid in Oakland and Berkeley, CA, which were cities in my county).
I posted my travel EDC on my other channel, 2A Cops-Cops Supporting Gun Rights. I think it is something other church safety team people may appreciate, so I’m posting it here for you. I hope you enjoy it.
