I generally recommend that persons who are going to provide security carry not only lethal and less lethal defensive tools but also restraints. Lawyerly types have been known to accuse off duty cops / security folks who do have even soft cuffs on them as not intending to restrain someone who could be taken into custody or detained but rather only wanting to kill them. We know this is BS but lawyers have been known to throw this out at juries. Same with types of ammo. Another discussion.
