Christian schools, Christmas parades, Christmas markets. Explosives were found this morning outside a Catholic Church in the French Quarter (they were safely detonated.)
The spiritual war has escalated into a physical one and it will get worse.
We have been warned about ISIS and political violence for months, and we saw both on New Years Day.
Supposedly the Vegas Tesla driver shot himself in the head with a 50 cal. Desert Eagle - after igniting the explosives and before the initial explosion. Now I am curious how the valet staff and bystanders were not alarmed by the 50 cal. Desert Eagle being disharged in the Cybertruck.
Keith, you always bring a fantastic perspective for me. I appreciate your counsel as much as your expertise. I do believe, as church/worship security, we may have one of the tougher missions than many because of our need to protect the members while welcoming those coming for spiritual healing and growth. Thank you…..again!
Thank you for putting this together. Many, if not most, people would not associate these events with a church threat because they didn't involve a religious facility or group of followers. However, EVERY incident is a possible church threat because the same tactics used there can be implemented at any religious event. I.E. run through a group of party goers on Bourbon Street or run through a group of Christians at a Christmas parade? Blow up a vehicle outside a Las Vegas hotel lobby or blow up a vehicle at the entrance to a Synagogue?
What I find interesting is both vehicles used were electric trucks. Not that it could mean anything, but these types of vehicles are a very small portion of vehicles produced.
Furthermore, both were Soldiers at Fort Bragg, although neither for some time. But the connections scream at me, and as a reader of Hebrew I know there is no such word in God’s vocabulary as “coincidence.”
In regards to Louisiana, using an electric has two advantages, one is they are relatively quiet and second is they have a lot of torque so he could gain speed quickly and quietly compared to a conventional vehicle. It's more likely that Las Vegas used one as a political statement and the driver might have hoped for a larger bang with lithium being volatile at high temperatures. Supposably it was reported that the Tesla truck construction helped to minimize some of the blast. Definitely interesting times and I'm sure we will have more shenanigans with the inauguration and probably the rest of the year unfortunately.
Recommendation: have a voluntary member or two wander outside. Have radios with earbuds so as not to disturb other congregants and rotate out so no one misses the whole service or the same portion every week.
You aren’t a “safety team.” You’re “radio enthusiasts” who lawfully carry.
Makes me wonder if the New Orleans attacks was a botched VBIED? Also wonder if that was a practice run for a bigger op for example Super Bowl weekend or Mardi Gras? See something say something stay vigilant don’t get complacent.
They are looking for others that were involved with Louisiana. It's been speculated that other IED's were placed by them and that in addition to driving and running over people, the plan was to make people go for cover and that's when the IED's would detonate.

Stay frosty, Brothers and Sisters.

We’ve been told we can’t have a security team at our church because the Catholic Diocese of Venice FL says so.
So, many of us are packing and sit on perimeter within the church to keep an eye on congregation. Doors are locked when the Mass starts.
I suggested bollards near the front of the 5 doors. Not done.
Church near a major interstate half a mile away. Not good.
Have a mental health facility next door also.
