Keith, you seem to be mixing apples and oranges. In one sentence you are talking about room-clearing and the next you are talking about CQB, two very different things.
To some of us, CQB is anything inside of 25 yards. This is within 3-second sprinting range. If no obstacles are in place, it is edged-weapons range. Most room-clearing operations fall in this category.

Isn't room clearing a topic of cqb?
From my training and the way I train students, CQB is within 3 feet. Room clearing is much different.
