I can’t get my head around he was walking through the parking lot with his kids part of the story and yet retrieved his gun out of the car. He must have only been a few yards away from the car when he saw the guy with the fake
gun. Day Care is not treated as a school in Wisconsin but many are attached to churches running schools or private schools so you need to be careful. Almost all are posted no guns, but that does not carry the force of law. Also I just looked at Aerial photo of the daycare. The parking lot is shared with a church run elementary school. Thats a problem. It would be considered school grounds if your in it. He could have parked on the street and entered from that direction eliminating the school grounds violation.
