Details of the Incident
During a regular Sunday service at Jesus’ Dwelling Place Church in North Braddock, Pennsylvania, a serious security incident occurred. Pastor Glenn Germany was mid-sermon when Bernard Junior Polite, a 26-year-old man from Braddock, approached the pulpit and pointed a pistol at him. The confrontation happened at approximately 1:09 p.m. EDT and was captured on video as the church service was being live-streamed.
Church's Response to the Threat
As the gunman's weapon jammed, Pastor Germany took cover behind the lectern. Members of the congregation acted swiftly; they subdued Polite, wrestling him to the ground. Pastor Germany joined the effort, helping to disarm Polite. The prompt and brave actions of the church members, particularly Deacon Clarence McCallister, were crucial in neutralizing the threat.

Aftermath and Legal Consequences
Following the incident, Pastor Germany expressed his gratitude on social media, specifically praising Deacon McCallister for his heroism. The assailant, Bernard Junior Polite, was arrested and is facing charges of attempted homicide, as confirmed by the Pennsylvania State Police.
