Shooting at Abundant Life Christian School: What We Know So Far

This morning, Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin, became the site of a devastating shooting. Police and emergency responders were called to the school just before 11:00 a.m. Here’s what we know so far.

The Incident

Police confirmed a shooting occurred at Abundant Life Christian School, a K-12 institution located at 4901 East Buckeye Road. The shooter, identified as male, was neutralized by law enforcement after being shot. The scene has been declared secure, allowing emergency responders to enter the building and begin assisting victims.

Casualties

Initial reports from the Madison Fire Department indicated at least 12 critically injured victims. Emergency teams established a casualty collection point outside Door #1 of the school, where medics and firefighters began triage and transport operations. First responders were directed to critical areas inside the building, including rooms C218 and C216, to deliver life-saving care.

Emergency Response

The fire department declared a mass casualty incident, mobilizing extensive resources, including additional medics and fire engines. A staging area for emergency services was set up at the nearby Dean Clinic at Stoughton and Cottage Grove. Hospitals in the area were notified to prepare for multiple critical patients.
